Signs Your Washing Machine Might Need a Repair
If you have placed your clothes in the washing machine and noticed a problem, you might be wondering if it’s time to get a washing machine repair service. Not everyone knows how to spot the signs of trouble when their appliances stop functioning correctly.
But you can look for a few red flags if you believe that your washing machine needs service. Not only can a faulty washing machine prevent you from cleaning your clothes, but it can also increase your water and energy consumption if you don’t get the issue under control. The following signs will let you know that you need to speak with a professional:
Your Washer Is Loud
You know how your washer sounds when it’s working if you have owned it for a while, but hearing a loud noise could be a sign of trouble that you will want to investigate. Before you jump to conclusions, check the simple solution first by stopping your washer and rebalancing your load. If the problem is still apparent, your next task is to ensure that your washing machine is level. You probably have a loose motor on your hands if none of these solutions get rid of the loud noise.
Water Won’t Fill the Drum
Water should start filling the drum as soon as you put your clothes in the machine and activate it. When water does not enter or fill the drum right away, you might have an issue with your water pressure or hose. Turn on the water in your sink or bathtub to see if you notice anything out of place, and you will need to make sure that the hose is not jammed or leaking if you confirm that your water pressure is normal.
The Drum Won’t Spin
If your washing machine’s drum doesn’t spin, you could have one of several issues that you will need to address to get your washer working at its best again. In many cases, you will find that the belt is to blame for the issue. Also, the sensor on the lid could be broken, and that problem won’t always be easy to solve. Since you won’t be able to wash your clothes until you get your drum working, you will want to move forward without delay. The right expert will identify and address the issue before you know it.
Water Won’t Drain From the Drum
When you are done washing your clothes, the water should drain from the drum. You could have a clogged drain or blocked hose if water remains in the drum after the washing machine completes its cycle. You can remove your clothes and look for small pieces of fabric that might be preventing the water from escaping. If you can’t get the drain to work within a few minutes, contacting a washing machine repair service is your best option and will provide you with great results.

Solid write up! Lots of different things that can go wrong with a washer. With today’s front-loaders, sometimes they won’t even power on! Pesky control boards.
